Would it be better for me to leave the church life so that the brothers and sisters would take notice of me?

[#8 Q1] In Luke 15, you have the prodigal son who leaves the father and the older brother who stays. Many times, I feel like the older brother. I see the brothers and sisters focusing on those who have left and the new ones who are coming in. However, there seems to be an implicit assumption that people like me who haven’t left and are still around have no problems and require no care. I don’t want to feel sorry for myself, but sometimes I wonder if it would be better for me to leave the church life so that they would take notice of me.

In Question and Response (Q&R) sessions, a group of invited panelists respond to questions submitted by students and young adults during the week. The panelists are generally older and more experienced brothers in the Lord who have the burden to respond to our questions by sharing both the truth from the Bible and their experiences in life.

It is important to point out that these brothers do not presume to have the answers to our questions. Rather, they are willing to providing a response in fellowship, and to encourage us to personally go to the Lord and consider all these things before Him.

“That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”
