Who attended?
The Spring 2020 University Conference was originally planned to take place the weekend of March 27-29 in the Netherlands, with 220 registrants from 19 countries. When it was not possible for the conference to take place in person – it was moved – to where YOU are!
Over 1130 households (more people!) from approximately 17 time zones registered to participate in the Virtual European University Conference. Many others from around the globe joined to watch the streamed messages on YouTube, either ‘live’ along with the conference registrants, or at a later time.
The word spread
The messages were released simultaneously in nine European languages. See the links below to download the outlines and watch the messages in English, German, Italian, French, Polish, Russian, Slovak, Serbo-Croatian, or Spanish.
The first message has now been viewed more than 20,000 times, and we thank the Lord that so many of His seekers have been able to receive the healthy and encouraging word released during this conference.
All over the world
Students from all over the world, including 57 countries enjoyed this virtual conference. The subject of the conference was The Christian Life in Philippians, and was very timely for our present situation. As well as three conference messages, participants joined Zoom calls for singing, smaller group fellowship, and overflow. WhatsApp groups were used to facilitate further fellowship and announcements.
Q&R and overflow
In addition, students submitted questions which were responded to during the “Question and Response” session on Saturday evening. On Lord’s Day evening, many conference participants took turns to share their enjoyment from the conference messages. This took place in a large Zoom meeting with about 700-800 devices connected, where we enjoyed seeing one another’s smiling faces from all around the world.
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope unwavering, for He who has promised is faithful; And let us consider one another so as to incite one another to love and good works…”
Outlines and Messages
The fellowship continues...
The conference ended after the weekend, but the fellowship has continued with regular European Young Adult meetings, including Thursday evening fellowship and small groups, Question and Response, and Dive Sessions into key aspects of the truth. These continue to be well-attended with a few hundred joining each time, and are a great source of supply and encouragement as we all seek to redeem the time and take every opportunity to grow deeper roots in the Lord and become useful vessels to Him.
“Let your forbearance be known to all men. The Lord is near. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; And the peace of God, which surpasses every man’s understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.”
