Is it normal for a brother in a courtship to send another sister “flirty” messages, and what should I do in such a situation?

[#8 Q3] Recently, a very close companion of mine was courting a brother. While she was courting him, he was sending me messages that I would not have liked if he was courting me (they were in my eyes “flirty”). I didn’t know what to do, and I didn’t want to cause trouble, so I never told her and just really prayed consistently for her and this brother as I was very worried. I also prayed with someone I trusted without revealing the full situation. They ended up breaking up and I was extremely relieved. Was this normal? Should I have told her?

In Question and Response (Q&R) sessions, a group of invited panelists respond to questions submitted by students and young adults during the week. The panelists are generally older and more experienced brothers in the Lord who have the burden to respond to our questions by sharing both the truth from the Bible and their experiences in life.

It is important to point out that these brothers do not presume to have the answers to our questions. Rather, they are willing to providing a response in fellowship, and to encourage us to personally go to the Lord and consider all these things before Him.

“That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”
