How can I help my children have a proper foundation in the Lord’s redemption?
[#22 Q3] Growing up as a church kid, there was an emphasis on the organic aspect of God’s salvation. Any mention of the blood of Christ or Christ’s redemption was mostly in the context of the benefit I could derive from it and how His blood enabled me to enjoy Him more. However, all the milestones in my life with the Lord, came as a result of His shining, exposing, and convicting. To my impression, many of my peers with whom I grew up with, and myself included, “enjoyed” God’s organic salvation without appreciating the price He paid to bring about such a salvation in His judicial redemption. I have struggled with not having a proper foundation in the Lord’s redemption for decades. I don’t want my children to experience the same thing. What should I do?
It is important to point out that these brothers do not presume to have the answers to our questions. Rather, they are willing to provide a response in fellowship, and to encourage us to personally go to the Lord and consider all these things before Him.
