Enjoyment from Young People’s Training, Chapter 1

Chapter 1 from Young People’s Trainingby Witness Lee

THE FULL GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THE HEAVENLY VISION

This chapter includes the following sections:

  • THE REVELATION OF CHRIST AND THE CHURCH
  • THE LORD’S APPEARING MAKING SAUL A WITNESS
  • THE LORD’S CHARGE
  • THE FULL GOSPEL
  • THE NEED FOR PRAYER
  • PAUL’S RELIGIOUS BACKGROUND AND THE LORD’S APPEARING
  • GRACE GIVEN TO LESS THAN THE LEAST

Some key verses are:

  • Acts 26:19 Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.
  • Matthew 16:13 Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of Man is? 14 And they said, Some, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. 15 He said to them, But you, who do you say that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in the heavens. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, and whatever you bind on the earth shall have been bound in the heavens, and whatever you loose on the earth shall have been loosed in the heavens.
  • Galatians 1:11 For I make known to you, brothers, concerning the gospel announced by me, that it is not according to man. 12 For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation by Jesus Christ. 13 For you have heard of my manner of life formerly in Judaism, that I persecuted the church of God excessively and ravaged it. 14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many contemporaries in my race, being more abundantly a zealot for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when it pleased God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, 16 To reveal His Son in me that I might announce Him as the gospel among the Gentiles, immediately I did not confer with flesh and blood.
  • Ephesians 3:8 To me, less than the least of all saints, was this grace given to announce to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ as the gospel.

We saw the need for much prayer to see what Paul saw in Acts 26:18. We need God’s UNIQUE vision! When we see the vision we will have spiritual reality and we will be transparent people. Then when we contact people they will realize we are crystal clear. This is not preaching, this is witnessing. May we be those who can testify like Paul testified, “Therefore… I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.”

    1. Amen! I enjoyed this too. Lord, give us this unique vision! Don’t let us go! We would see and become witnesses of You!

  2. Christ has not given us a religion, but life. Religion can’t bring us to God. It can only give us teaching and knowledge. This is not enough. We should seek for the Lord’s appearing and vision. When the Lord appears to us, we can be witness of Him and His kingdom. The living God brings us from darkness to light. When we see the Lord Jesus, this brings us into His Light . We also receive forgiveness, are sanctified and have Christ as our portion. All who enjoy this portion are members of the church. Hallelujah!

  3. We should not merely preach the gospel, but be witnesses of what we have seen. We don’t want to present doctrine or tradition, but a living Christ. This means we need a fresh revelation of this Christ, and of the church, His Body. For this, we need to pray and contact this living Lord! This chapter had so many prayers – may many of these prayers become ours:

“Lord, open my eyes. I don’t need knowledge, Lord. I need my eyes to be opened. Lord, turn me from anything dark. I don’t want to remain in darkness. Lord, turn me from darkness to light.”

“Lord, turn me from the authority, the dominion, of Satan to Yourself. I must be a person who is absolutely in God. God is my sphere, my realm, my kingdom. I must be in God.”

“Lord, I want to have my eyes opened like they have never been opened before. I don’t want to be opaque. I want to have eyes like the four living creatures in the book of Revelation.”

“Lord, grant me a full and thorough forgiveness of all my sins. I want to have a clearance of sins from the top to the bottom. I would leave nothing that has not been dealt with. Lord, I also want to be fully sanctified. I don’t want to be merely a forgiven person but also a sanctified person. Then I will be able to enjoy my portion, the all-inclusive Christ.”

“Lord, I want to experience the gospel that You revealed to Paul as mentioned in Acts 26:18. I want to experience this full, complete, perfect, and thorough gospel.”

“Lord, I’m here. You don’t need to knock me down. Lord, I’m here touching Your throne of grace. Open my eyes and turn me thoroughly from all darkness to light. Turn me from the authority of Satan to God and grant me a thorough forgiveness of all my sinfulness. O Lord, sanctify me that I may enjoy You as my portion among the saints in the local churches.”

“Lord, show me something by appearing to me. Lord, You appeared to Paul and he saw something, and You told him that You would show him more through Your appearing to him. Lord, appear to me so that in Your appearing I may see something and then tell people of what I have seen.”

“Lord, I have never heard such a gospel before. Lord, open my eyes and turn me from all other things to Yourself.”

“Lord, whether I understand it or not, Ephesians 3:8 says that Paul was less than I am. If grace was given to him, then, Lord, You must also give this grace to me. Standing on Ephesians 3:8, I claim the grace.”

“Lord, I mean business with You. You have given grace to one who is less than I, and now You must give grace to me. Lord, I mean it. Lord, cause us all to experience the riches of the unlimited Christ and to have the church life which comes out of this enjoyment.”

    Amen!

“That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”
