East Coast (Northerners): Day 3 – Road Trip to Fairfax

Thursday, 13th July

In the morning we packed up and left some snacks and tea (Yorkshire Tea of course) for our hosts and all the sisters who looked after us, we felt very cherished. We also included a group picture of us.

After we departed we were all invited over to Brother Sam and Sister Maria’s house, where some of the sisters stayed, to have breakfast together (spot the matching T-shirts). The food was amazing and we enjoyed the company and more time for blending with some local college students.

After breakfast we had some more time before we had to depart on our drive to Fairfax. We enjoyed some singing time and taught them a song which a sister in the group composed.

The drive to our next destination was a total of 6 hours with a few pit stops here and there. We enjoyed lots and lots of singing time together.

Due to traffic coming out of New York the drive took much longer than we had expected, but we were able to have a nice sit down seafood meal in Maryland en route to Fairfax, Virginia.

When we arrived in Fairfax we had already travelled for most part of the day and it was already 8pm at night. We were split into many different hospitalities and got to enjoy much more blending and some very nice food.

One of our students said “My hospitality was with the parents of the saints that shepherd me in university! It was lovely to meet them and hear a bit of their experiences in the church life in Fairfax, Virginia.”
