East Coast (Northerners): Day 15 – Last day in the States, leaving Boston, a short stop at Rhode Island, and heading back to NYC

Tuesday, 25th July

This was our last full day in the USA. We left Boston around 9.20am to check out Newport in Rhode Island as suggested by the Boston saints.

Rhode Island was quite close, an hour and a half drive from Boston. We also drove past the Boston training centre on our way there as a brother in our group had completed a year there.

On the road once again.

We had reached our destination.

When we arrived at the beach we split off into two groups, most of us stayed and swam in the ocean but the rest went on a short walk around the cliffs.

It was refreshing to be by the ocean.

It was quite warm on the walk, but the view was pretty

We only stayed at the beach for a short while before going to another area closeby to get lunch.

The majority of us got a meal at a restaurant. But a few got food to-go from some of the shops.

The Newport area was very pretty to walk around.

Afterwards, we then had the last stretch journey towards New York City, where we were spending our last night. It was another four-hour journey from Newport.

Once we made it to NYC, car group and van group set off to get dinner.

The car group evening experience:

We went and explored NYC Chinatown and got some yummy Chinese food, wow!!

A claw machine arcade was also discovered.

Alongside stores with really cute stuff!

The van group evening experience:

We went and grabbed Wendy’s after buying a lot of frisbees from Dick’s Sporting Goods (no pictures, unfortunately).

We probably bought five frisbees altogether!

Wendy’s Wendys.

After feasting, we headed back and took a quick stop at Target for some random things. We eventually all met up back at our hotel for the evening.

There we had to say our goodbyes to the van that had served us so well the past two weeks.

Most of us had an early flight to catch the next day, so we all went to our rooms to try and rest up.

Our road trip has officially concluded!

“That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”
