California Part 1: Day 3 – Feasting with the saints in San Juan Capistrano and Anaheim!

Lord’s day, 2nd July

Lord’s day was our final morning with our hosts in SJC.

It is always a little sad to have to say goodbye (until the next time!). We would have loved to stay with our hosts longer!

The Lord’s table was really rich and enjoyable!

The saints were in the same ministry as we are in back in the UK. The topic this week was, “Making Ourselves Ready for the Lord’s Coming by Growing in Life unto Maturity.”

A few nuggets we enjoyed are:

  • The prayer for the enlargement of capacity is not so we can do more for God, but is related to our capacity to be filled with God.
  • Life doesn’t grow instantly. It doesn’t happen in three and a half years. Life takes time to grow.
  • We mature in the small, inconsequential situations. Everyone has their own situations. We each need our situation.
  • We do not know for certain when the Lord is coming, but we know for certain that He is coming!

We enjoyed another love feast with all the saints!

Before we left, we had some fellowship and prayer to prepare us for our going to the Semiannual Training this coming week.

En route to Anaheim, we made a stop in Laguna Beach to get milkshakes from Ruby’s Diner.

The weather was surprisingly cool and overcast both afternoons we were at the coast, even though we heard it was extremely hot and sunny just a few minutes away in Mission Viejo!

But we enjoyed one another’s company and getting to know each other more. (We are from different cities in the UK and also blending with one another!)

Once we reached Anaheim, our first stop was back to the FTTA cafeteria to check in and receive our hospitality assignments.

Eleven of us are staying in FTTA hospitality this week, and the rest of us are staying with local families.

One of those families invited us all to their home for dinner that evening, it was so cherishing!

And so yummy! Thank you, dear saints!

This home used to be housing for FTTA trainee brothers, and it turns out one of the brothers in our group had lived here for two years!

We made sure to get a happy group picture with all the saints 🙂

And sneaked a behind-the scenes picture also!

Afterwards we all went to our hospitality for a good rest and to prepare for the Semiannual Training to begin on Monday!

“That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”
